Thank you for your interest in my very first novel, The Cerulean Locket. The creation of this novel has been quite a journey, as I’m sure you can imagine; one that I kept close to my heart for a long time.
Few of my friends and loved ones were even aware that I’d written a novel until it was published. When I first began to disclose that I’d written a novel, I was usually met with a polite smile. “Oh…that’s nice,” some would say. A few people laughed at me. “You’re a lawyer, not a writer. Why are you wasting your time?”
These were moments when I thought my novel would never come to fruition; that my manuscript would simply sit in my hard drive untouched, taking up (a lot) of space. In fact, it did just that for several years. But over time, other people I encountered encouraged me to see my novel to completion and follow my dream; from the radiant receptionist at the law firm where I worked, to a book editor from NYC who told me I should pursue this unique tale, to my husband who patiently listened to me as I read chapter after to chapter to him each night. These people, and others, believed in me and the story I created. They pushed me out of my comfort zone. If it wasn’t for them, this novel would not have been possible.
My Mom is one of those people. She always told me that I could be anything I wanted to be, so long as I worked hard and tried my very best. She inspired me to always believe in myself, and reminded me that with God, all things are possible. This novel is an ode to her.
In 2016, I published my novel through Tilden Terrence Press, a publishing company I created to give independent, first-time authors with well-woven, uplifting, socially-conscious novels an opportunity to have their books go to print and be made available to all major book retailers.
The Cerulean Locket is available through Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Amazon.com and online through most bookstores. I truly hope that you enjoy the story of Sofi Vadoma, the young Roma from Bulgaria who, like many of us, yearns for love, acceptance, and a good life.
I also hope that my little author story inspires you to follow your dreams, tap into your creative side, and persevere. If you believe in yourself, give thanks to God every day for his infinite blessings, and try your very best, there is nothing you cannot do! Slava Bogu za vse!
